Morrisville Ski & Snowboard program - Skis and Snowboard Equipment

Ski equipment

Loaner Equipment

Jean Wickart has a limited amount of ski equipment to loan to students in the program on a “first come, first served” basis.

If you need equipment, call Jean ASAP @ 888-2474. Unfortunately, the program does not have any snowboard equipment.

SKI Tuning

Power Play Sports offers a great ski tuning deal for program participants (Instructors and Students)

$20 for Base tune package.  Includes sharpening and wax and release check to VT standards

They also sell and lease ski and snowboard packages at reasonable prices.

We highly recommend that all participants wear a helmet!

Helmets

All Skiers are strongly encouraged to wear a Helmet when skiing.

Mark all equipment

All equipment should be clearly labeled with your child’s name in permanent marker.  Duct tape works well.

What does my child need to bring every Sunday?

Skis, boards and bindings must be safety checked by a professional as children’s height and weight change each year.  Please bring your equipment to them early to avoid the last minute rush!

Students will be given their passes before the first Sunday lesson. Students must have their ski passes with them.  Because Stowe Mountain Resort will not be issuing any substitute passes, you child will have to sit in the lodge if s/he forgets his/her pass.  Try having your child put his/her pass in his/her ski boot when getting undressed from skiing; then it will be easily remembered when gearing up for the next week.

Students like to take a break in the lodge; we encourage children to bring a snack from home.  If you prefer to send money, please limit the amount to $5.00.

Be sure your child always wears a helmet (or hat), neck warmer and gloves or mittens.  It is always cold on the mountain- and colder than it is in Morrisville!

Beginning skiers generally don’t use poles the first season.  It is easiest if they are just left at home until your child’s instructor requests that students bring them in.

If your child will be absent on any Sunday, please call your child’s instructor.  Regular attendance at lessons is important, especially for beginners; students progress quickly and it is a challenge to accommodate individuals who have missed multiple lessons when others are ready to board the lift and ski more challenging terrain.
